Coastal Signs Plus designed, fabricated, and installed a comprehensive wayfinding and identification sign program for Anchor Health Properties at Chancellor Park Medical Campus in UTC, San Diego. The project replaced an aging and inconsistent collection of signs with a coordinated system designed to improve navigation for patients, visitors, staff, and vehicles throughout the medical campus.
Custom Wayfinding System Design
Rather than updating individual signs in isolation, CS+ developed a new campus-wide signage system from the ground up. The sign family established a consistent visual language, information hierarchy, and directional system that could be applied across different areas of the property.
The program was designed around the visitor journey, beginning with arrival at the campus and continuing through parking, building identification, entrances, lobbies, and individual suites.

Vehicular & Pedestrian Wayfinding
A combination of vehicular and pedestrian directional signs helps visitors navigate Chancellor Park from the surrounding roadway through the interior of the campus.
The system includes entry identification and directional pylons for buildings 4510 and 4520, along with dedicated directions for valet services, the parking garage, ambulance parking, building entrances, and individual suites.
Information and directional arrows were organized to provide clear guidance at key decision points while maintaining a consistent appearance throughout the property.
Building Identification & Interior Signage
The signage program continues from the exterior wayfinding system to individual buildings and interior spaces. CS+ incorporated dimensional building numerals, entrance identification, and interior directional signage to provide continuity as visitors transition from parking areas into the medical buildings.
Custom curved signs identify destinations including the Main Lobby and Plaza Entrance, while interior directional elements carry the same design language into the buildings.
Integration With Existing Signage
Select existing signs remained in place as part of the project, requiring the new sign family to work alongside established elements of the campus.
CS+ developed the new signage with materials, colors, proportions, and detailing that complemented the retained signs while giving Chancellor Park a more contemporary overall appearance. This allowed the property to modernize its wayfinding system without requiring every existing sign to be replaced.
A Coordinated Medical Campus Sign Program
For a medical campus with multiple buildings, parking areas, entrances, and suites, effective wayfinding plays an important role in the overall visitor experience. Coastal Signs Plus approached Chancellor Park as a complete environmental signage system, coordinating design, custom fabrication, exterior identification, directional signage, interior wayfinding, and installation as one unified program.
The completed project gives Anchor Health Properties a more consistent and professional campus identity while providing visitors with clearer guidance from their initial arrival through their final destination.
